Since we have entered into the digital world, the electronic advertising has gained a magnificent attention of the businesses. Now people don’t want to waste their precious time in wandering into the market streets and shops to get the required product or services rather they sit in front of the computer screen and with few clicks, they get their requirement done within no time.

A single word in a search-engine, explores a variety of websites where we can select over a core interest and can reach easily to our requirements. It is higly observed that, only sites on the first or the second search-engine page can get the luck to be viewed by the searchers and in a result can make some revenue by the end.

Now, the problem is raised that, “how to get on the first page of the search-engines”?

Here comes the roll of Social-Media marketing. Yes, they have come up with certain strategies and techniques to over-come the problem of business owners. They use techniques like text link building, banner advertising, contextual linking and many others used in SEO to optimize the site for the search engines.

Google.com is a search engine that crawls the websites with a peculiar algorithm and rank them according to their contents, back links, layout and some other factors. Alexa, can be reduced in a similar way that is also counted as a major factor involved in website’s values. So, the social media has played a significant roll in promoting websites and providing businesses with a better ROI.

Web Site Optimization and Search Engines

At this point, you may be wondering just how search engines decide which site goes where. Well, the bad news is, the exact formula search engines use to rank web sites is a bit of a mystery; much like the secret ingredient in the recipe for my grandma’s famous barbeque sauce.

If the secret every got out, web sites would attempt to manipulate the system for better ranking and the major engines are having none of it.

The good news is that you don’t have to know the secret ingredient to be extremely successful with the major engines. A few basic rules of thumb are all you really need.

#1 Tip: Search engines rank web pages based on content and the relevance of that content to the search terms. Here’s the logic behind this ranking system. If someone is looking for information about famous barbeque sauce and you happen to have a web page with content that feature the phrase “famous barbeque sauce” a number of times, chances are that page is about famous barbeque sauce and everybody gets what they want.

The engines have done their job, the person search the terms feels like they’ve found what they where looking for and your page gets traffic.

That being said…

You won’t be able to pull the old “barbeque sauce, barbeque sauce, barbeque sauce” routine; call it quality content and think it’s going to fly with the engines. Where some might find such a gag somewhat amusing (myself included), the search engines are all business when it comes to relevancy.

Your best bet is to stick with good solid content and a healthy sprinkle of your “famous barbeque sauce”, and you’ll create the kind of flavor for your site that everyone will love.

So, the general rule of thumb for a good ranking would be…

Keyword in your headline; keyword at least twice within the first two paragraphs, and wrap up your conclusion with (you guessed it…) keyword and good quality content to fill out the rest of your web page.

Video Inviter Listbuilding

Whether or not you have spent a lot of time around people that market on the internet, you would have heard them say at one time or another, “The Money is in The List”. What they are actually talking about is their mailing list.

This list is generally made up of different people that have asked to receive some sort of information from them, either in the form of an email newsletter or some other general publication.

For many internet marketers, the bulk of their income comes from marketing to the people on their mailing list. A person’s list can truly be their key to success.

Unfortunately, some people mistakenly believe that the bigger list they have, the more successful they will be. There are a lot of ways to “get” subscribers, such as contests, list swaps, and even through list purchasing.

It is possible to achieve a high number of subscribers through these methods… but that doesn’t always guarantee success.

Instead of focusing on the number of people on the list, focus on the quality of the list and how interested the people are to receive the information.

A list of 1,000 very interested people will bring in much more money than a list of 10,000 uninterested people.

The following are some tips to help you build a great list:

An Easy To Follow sign up process

If you have made signing up for your newsletter a complicated process, many people will simply click away from your site without bothering to try to work out how to opt in to your list.

It’s quite important to make sure the sign up box is easy to see. Some people place it at the bottom of their sites and if the visitor doesn’t scroll all the way down, then they will obviously miss it.

There have been studies which suggest that placing your newsletter sign-up box on the top right portion of your website will give you the best results, although you might want to try some split testing and place it on various parts of your pages to test for the best results.

Promote your list to your target market

Knowing your target market is another big key in creating a great list. The more targeted the people on your list are, the more likely they are to purchase your products or services.

Your target market consists of the people who are most likely to be interested in what you have to offer. For example, if you are selling an e-book on say how to lose 10lbs in 14 days, you don’t want to be advertising to build your list on a pet food site.

Offer Something For Free

A great way to build your list is to offer something for free in exchange for someone joining your mailing list, say an e-book or maybe some software, a good example of this can be found at videoinviter.org, try to make sure that it is of good value though and not some old plr or similar product that thousands of people are touting around.

Remember it may take a little time for you to develop your list, but it will be worth it, because once you have it, it will be sure to be one of your best and most lucrative business assets.

Web Site Optimization

Website Optimisation

Google Search Engines

I know I’m of stating the obvious for the wide majority of us, however I have to cover it for the few that may not know. Google will more than likely index your site regardless, but if you want to fast track the course of action and tell Google that your site exists and to send a bot over to index it then simply go to www dot google dot com/addurl and add your URL “www dot yourwebsiteaddress dot com” to make sure Google can find your site.

Website Optimisation -> Hierarchy Management:

In order for the spiders to index your site easily you need to make sure you have a . The easiest way I can think to explain this is: Think of your (C:) Drive Folder, you don’t just put all your files straight into your (C:) Drive, as you know there are thousands of different files in there and they are all structured under the (C:) Drive hierarchy.

You have folders like your Documents folder, Pictures Folder, Music Folder… and this is exactly the way you should constitute your website. By making subfolders that not only make it easier for you to find what you want but when Google comes along to index your site it will easily find all the files, you can put all of html text together at one level because google doesn’t have a problem with this but you will need to put all your auxiliary files in a hierarchical order at the same level. Organize this logically.

There is a picture of this on my blog, just click the link titled Website Optimisation in the resource box of this article.

All your html text files would be in the resource folder. “See the photo on my blog” If you structure your site in a similar way its no problem for you to find your files and easier for Google to index your site.

Website Optimization -> Music, Images, Videos

HTML is easy for google to find and index but Music, Images & Video isn’t that easy, so you need to help the Googlebot out a bit.

Give all your multimedia files a good description using alt= <”description of picture”>

Give all your picture files an acurate depiction when you name them.
Give a good explanation in the description field when you can.

Here’s an example: I named the picture on my blog, Website Optimization. This helps Google find the picture and certainly wont hurt my my search rankings. You should also do the same with the description & alt tagsalt=<”Website Optimization”> There is a second picture on my blog post named Website Optimisation I have done the same; only I have spelled it the way we would here in Australia. Just testing to see if it will help google find this post in both .com & .com.au search engines.

Web Site Optimisation -> Title Tags

Always use the google keyword tool to search for good search volume keywords to use in your title, that doesn’t necessarily meanthat the higher the number of searches the better.

There can be some pretty tough competition for these high volume keywords. Just use keywords that best suit your post or article and do everything you need to do to get on the First Page of Google. There is more information about this on our blog site.

It’s bestto keep your Title tags as short and concise as possible they need to do two jobs “get your visitors attention” & attracting highly qualified targeted audience through the selection of your Title keywords.

The title of this article is a good example. I chose it after going through the Google Keyword Tool and finding that Web Site Optimisation was getting 14,800 searches world wide per month and Web Site Optimization was getting 27,000 searches globally per month. There was definately higher level keywords but the contest for these keywords is fierce. Thats not to say that you should totally forget these higher volume keywords just mix it up a bit.

I know this title didn’t attract you because you were searching for Home Business Opportunity, MLM or Network Marketing, you are evidently looking for better ways increase site traffic. Our site is only a couple of months old and right now we are generating between 400 – 500 No Cost, Free hits per day using Only Free Marketing Strategies and the trend continues upwards. Thats more than 10,000 hits per month on a very conservative quantity and it won’t be long before we are getting 20,000 hits per month, more than 10% of these are new visitors.

A big percentage of the marketing we are doing is yet to come into play. We still have a lengthy list of Articles in line waiting to be approved and put out there on the net. Article Marketing is an extremely powerful free marketing strategy, just do a google search and see how often an article comes up in the first page.

What is Social Media Marketing?

The inspiration for this article lies in a fantastic slide presentation I saw fairly recently on slideshare.net. The presentation, aptly named “What the f*** is social media?” was put together by Marta Z Kagan.

Over 74 slides, one is just hit with fact after fascinating fact – initially about the reach and penetration of social media, and then how to converse with audiences. It’s truly inspiring stuff.

Wikipedia broadly defines social media as the use of electronic and Internet tools for the purpose of sharing and discussing information and experiences with other human beings. Kagan sums it up nicely saying “social media is people having conversations online”.

The mechanisms for these conversations include a number of mediums – some are communicative, others collaborative and others include multimedia or a combination of all three. Social media can take many forms, but one element that consistently sets all of its incarnations apart from “traditional” media, is that it is produced to be shared.

There’s more to social media than social networking sites. While extremely popular (Time magazine wrote in October 2007 that social networking sites are officially more popular than porn!), they are not the only way people connect online. Other media include wikis, microblogging (like twitter), blogs, social bookmarking (like del.icio.us and StumbleUpon), photo sharing (like Flickr), video sharing (like YouTube), pod casts and many others.

How big is this phenomenon really?

There are over two and a half million articles in English on Wikipedia. 75% of Americans watch at least one video online a month. YouTube alone has hundreds of millions of videos being viewed daily. There are over 200-million blogs on the internet. Just under 60% of the people online have joined a social network.

And these are just some of the staggering numbers that get thrown around. This just serves to prove just how powerful and wide the reach of social media is.

What’s the difference between social media and traditional media?

The main difference is that social media is not a monologue. It is a dialogue that the brand sometimes does not lead. People are talking online right now – and this is an aspect of social media marketing.

Research has shown that 90% of people who can skip television adverts do just that.

A 2007 Nielsen report entitled “Trust in Advertising” showed that people trust referrals from their friends and other customers far more implicitly than one-way company messaging. Fundamentally, people don’t care what a company or brand thinks, they care what their friends think.

So, how do you harness this?

The short answer is: subtly. You can’t always lead the conversations – and you need to be honest. Don’t bombard the audience with noise and marketing messages – they will just switch off, or you’ll be lost in the din – neither are optimal situations.

Create personas and communicate. You need to allow your customers to feel ownership of the brand. You need to enable, engage and inspire people. A flat one-sided message is not going to get anybody excited about a brand or product, and this is how to start a buzz.

There’s no real “trick” to social media marketing. What it comes down to essentially, is listening to your customers and participating with them.
